An improvised salad dressing, or a lunch-time hack

I brought a salad to the office on Friday, which is not unusual. But I was in a rush in the morning and didn’t prepare the little container with the dressing (olive oil, vinegar, salt).

As I started cycling towards the office, I expected / hoped / vaguely remembered that the office kitchen had some bottles of these.

Imagine my sheer horror when, hours later, I turn up at the kitchen and… nope. There was nothing of that. There was sugar, marmite, sriracha (hot sauce), salt, pepper, other random things… but absolutely no olive oil or vinegar.

Lentil patties

We tried the Clipstone‘s Sunday Arrosto, and they included a card thanking us (you’re welcome!) and also suggesting we could use the chicken bones for a stock. Why, of course! You don’t need to say that twice.

I immediately placed the bones and a few vegetables into my pressure cooker and had it extracting all the flavour that could be left for an hour. But then I was not quite sure what to do with the veggies because they had become a bit too mushy (specially the leeks).

Then I saw Miriam’s recipe and I was like A-HA!

Self isolation, week 4: purple week, purple week

This week some significant events happened:

  1. There was a lot of purple-coloured things to consume
  2. Devvers found raspberries! And spring onions! It was the first time I saw spring onions in like three weeks.
  3. We got a food delivery that brought us twenty four eggs (yes, 24), amongst other things.
