This is something my grandmother used to make for Sunday lunch… but only once a year! Maybe she got tired of peeling pomegranates and the rest of fruits for six people (and who can blame her!?)
It’s nice to enjoy the new oranges coming into season, with their crisp and sweet flavour… yum!
Ingredients
Makes about 4 servings
- 1 apple
- 2 oranges
- 1 banana
- A pomegranate, or as many pomegranate seeds as you’d like
Preparation
- Deseed the pomegranate (if you didn’t buy it pre-seeded)
- Peel the apple, one of the oranges, and the banana
- Slice them in small pieces (small enough to be able to eat this with a spoon)
- Add them to a deep bowl
- Juice the other orange, add to the bowl
- Carefully stir; if the liquid doesn’t cover the fruit, you can add some more water. Stir again
- Cover and let it rest for a while; if it rests overnight the flavours will be mellower and the fruit will be softer
Serve in small bowls.
